I am an image-maker, researcher, educator and currently a PhD candidate at University of Helsinki. My research centres around visual culture, digital media, and landscape perception. I have presented my work and research in various countries, such as Ireland, Finland, UK, Spain, Slovakia and Sweden. I have also received funding to support my work and research from Culture Ireland, the City of Helsinki, the City of Espoo, and the European Union. My work has been featured in Source Photographic Review and the Royal Photographic Society Journal.

I completed a practice-led Masters by Research at IADT Dún Laoghaire in 2018 on the role of the image in the transformation of urban topographies in the context of globalised production and neoliberal governance. In addition, I hold a qualifications in Visual Education and Critical Research. I currently teach photography and visual culture courses at the Omnia Adult Education Centre. In the past I have taught photography at the PhotoMuseum Ireland (originally known as Gallery of Photography), Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute and Institute of Art, Design, and Technology Dún Laoghaire in Dublin, and at Aalto University in Espoo, Finland.

My main medium is photography, but I work across a range of media including moving image, drawing, and mixed media. I have worked on documentary, performance, and community projects. For example, in 2023 I worked on a community project in Covilhã, Portugal, examining how place has evolved around the natural features of the landscape. I have received funding to support both my research and photographic work in Finland, Ireland and the EU. I also maintain a blog on my research interests, which I update a few times a year and it can be accessed here.
